In this Jetserver Web Hosting article, we will explain the essence of Two Factor Authentication and how it’s implemented in Jetserver’s client area.
The default for user login to a personal area (local or online) always relies on entering a user name and a password. Previously, this was good enough to meet security requirements for access levels to personal areas and denial of access from unauthorized users. Today, the password has become the weakest link in the security chain. Viruses and malware work in disguise to gain user passwords and use them to hack into local and online computing systems. The more difficult question to answer is: “How can I know that my password is safe?”
Two Factor Authentication has been around for some time now and this security mechanism is now a practical way to add additional security to the user’s login sequence for personal areas. The mechanism activates a requirement to enter an additional password for the sequence of user name and password set by the user.
As we’ll see below, Two Factor Authentication requires that you install the Google Authenticator app. The purpose of the app is to provide a password that changes every few seconds – which must be entered for Two Factor Authentication. Here’s how to activate Two Factor Authentication in Jetserver site:
First, click here to access your client area on Jetserver website using your username and password:
After entering your client area, click “Hello, your name” to open the menu details.
Click “Security Settings”:
A page will be received with the option to enable Two Factor Authentication.
Click “Click here to enable” button:
A popup will require you to read and understand the meaning of Two Factor Authentication.
Click the “Get Started” button:

Please note: The verification code automatically changes every few seconds. Before changing the verification code, it will change to red. Entering a non-current verification code will prevent you from continuing the verification process!
Click “confirm ” button.
You will receive a backup code to be used if you lose or have no access to the device through which you performed Two Factor Authentication.
Click the “Return to Client Area” button:
Log out from your client area and re-enter, as described at the beginning of the article.
After typing your username and password, you will be prompted to enter the authentication code provided to you by the app:
Once you’ve entered the authentication code which was provided to you by the app, click the “Login” button.
To disable Two Factor Authentication, repeat the login to security settings and click the “Click here to Disable” button:
